Our Story

A Bistro Born from History

Blacksmith's Kitchen is a cosy and relaxed bistro-style restaurant, situated in the old blacksmith's cottages on Blacksmith's Estate. These two buildings predate the Manor House by some 70 years, and many of their original features have been lovingly preserved.

Before this, the buildings functioned as a workshop and tractor shed — and some of those more agricultural trinkets have been retained, giving the space an irreplaceable warmth and character you simply won't find anywhere else.

Our Mediterranean-inspired menu draws on the freshest local produce — including vegetables straight from our own farm patch — complemented by a carefully curated wine selection.

The Experience

An Exceptional View of Paarl and Surrounds

Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the sweeping Paarl mountain panorama from almost every seat in the house. Whether you're lingering over lunch or watching the sun dip behind the Winelands peaks, the setting is as memorable as the meal.

The space itself tells a story — exposed timber, warm pendant lights, and the gentle hum of a kitchen working with the seasons.
